    Kyle Bach

    CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER and PRESIDENT

    Kyle Bach launched The Annex Group, LLC, formerly Mecca Companies, Inc., in 2006 with the ultimate goal of providing student housing in emerging campus markets and affordable housing in large university communities. By creating memorable living and learning experiences for students through unique housing opportunities, Bach and his team serve as catalysts for economic development in communities across the Midwest.                                        

    As CEO, Bach oversees the company’s strategy and growth, manages capital and effectively heads the leadership platforms for all companies under The Annex Group® umbrella.  Since its founding, Bach has been involved in over $500 million of real estate development during his tenure, developing more than 2,000 multifamily and single-family assets in the Midwest.

    Tom Tomaszewski

    CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER and PRESIDENT OF ANNEX CONSTRUCTION

    Tom Tomaszewski has over 20 years of experience in the construction and development industry. With a vast understanding of the built environment, Tomaszewski ‘s expertise includes work on complex and difficult to develop projects throughout the country with a niche specialization in student and affordable multifamily housing.

    As Chief Operating Officer of The Annex Group® and President of Annex Construction, Tomaszewski oversees all company operations in regards to construction and pre construction activities, as well as leading all construction related entities under The Annex Group® umbrella. Tomaszewski, has been involved in the creation of over 2,000 apartment units and $500 million in real-estate and construction during his tenure with The Annex Group®. Tomaszewski along with founder Kyle Bach are principals of The Annex Group®.

    Education: Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs, Indiana University
    Construction Engineering and Management, Armor School of Engineering and Architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology

    Achievements: National Association of Home Builders: Multifamily Trustee, Construction Health and Safety Committee, Housing Credit Group. Tomaszewski is also the party of record on all Commercial Construction Licenses. Tomaszewski and the Annex Group® Affiliates are licensed in Multiple States and Jurisdictions across the country.

     

    Sam Hurley

    CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER and CPA

    Sam Hurley serves as the Chief Finance Officer for The Annex Group®  following his meaningful contributions while director of finance. With more than six years of public accounting and real estate experience, Hurley is well-versed in the multifamily housing industry, asset management and financial underwriting.

    Prior to joining The Annex Group®, Hurley served as a senior financial analyst for a multifamily housing developer and a real estate tax consultant for a Big 4 accounting firm based in New York. Throughout this time, Hurley led multiple debt and equity financings on 4% and 9% affordable housing transactions and established a reputation for successfully aligning financial metrics to support business growth and strategy.

    Hurley’s dedication to identifying optimal debt and equity candidates and impeccable ability to maintain relationships with existing investment partners has allowed The Annex Group® to secure its first opportunity zone financing structure while supporting the organization’s ultimate goal of providing affordable housing in emerging markets. Hurley also serves as a licensed CPA in the state of Indiana.

    CJ Lukaart

    CHIEF STRATEGY OFFICER

    As Chief Strategy Officer, CJ is responsible for ensuring that The Annex Group® reaches its strategic vision through the alignment of strategy planning, business development, organizational growth, process improvement, financial planning, information technology, and the execution of the Company’s vision in close collaboration with all such key departments. As such, CJ oversees and supports the execution of the company’s short-term, medium-term and long-term strategy.

    With almost 20 years of real estate experience, CJ began his career as a private practice attorney practicing in the fields of real estate and general corporate law. Most recently he served as General Counsel and Executive Vice President for a national healthcare real estate investment and development company where he was responsible for managing all legal aspects of the company along with leading and managing the development arm of the company.

    Education: CJ received his Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law and is a member in good standing with the Indiana bar and the Michigan bar.
