Martinson Promoted to Chief Investment Officer of Annex Student Living

Indianapolis-based student housing developer Annex Student Living is pleased to announce the promotion of Rob Martinson to chief investment officer. Martinson had served as vice president of development for Annex since 2013. As CIO, Martinson is responsible for overseeing all investment opportunities, managing and monitoring the organization’s portfolio, and developing strategies for growth.

Founded in 2009 by CEO Kyle Bach, Annex Student Living was recognized as one of Indiana’s fastest growing private businesses, as well as an Indiana Company to Watch by the ISBDC in 2015.

“Annex Student Living doubled its assets last year alone,” said Bach, “and Rob was instrumental in helping us achieve that growth.” With Martinson leading business development and building long term relationships with key debt and equity partners, Annex now has over 3,000 beds in operation and development across the Midwest.

“The Annex Team and I have the same vision and aggressive growth goals for Annex Student Living,” said Martinson. “The demand for affordable student housing is only climbing and we intend to keep fulfilling that demand across the country.”

Throughout his career, Martinson has managed real estate transactions totaling more than $300 million in retail, office, industrial, flex, self-storage, multifamily and student housing. He received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from University of Michigan and a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
