INDIANAPOLIS – Slated to house university students starting in the Fall of 2015, The Annex of Richmond is a $10 million apartment development located near the campus of Indiana University East. Construction on the 216-bed community at 2507 Chester Boulevard officially is underway by Indianapolis-based student housing developer Annex Student Living, LLC. A groundbreaking ceremony will be held on the construction site on October 30, 2014 at 3 p.m.

The Annex community will be a draw not only for students of IU East, but also students of schools of higher education such as Ivy Tech, Earlham College and Purdue University School of Technology.

“We’re very excited to be part of the Richmond market,” says Annex Student Living CEO Kyle Bach. “Our goal is to give those pursuing a college degree an affordable option to live and study in a fun environment with fellow students. By serving the housing and social needs of students who choose commuter-based colleges, our Annex communities uniquely provide the experience of attending a traditional residential university.”

The Annex of Richmond will include private bed/bath suites in 66 two-bed/two-bath, four-bed/two-bath and four-bed/four-bath units that are move-in ready. Each unit will be fully furnished including sleek appliances in the kitchen and beds in all bedrooms. In addition to a fitness center on site, The Annex will feature common areas including a clubhouse with kitchen, computer center, study area, social lounge with flat screen TV and laundry facility. Outdoor amenities will include sand volleyball and cornhole courts, social area with picnic tables and bike racks.

Lease rates will start around $485 per student per month, utilities included. As a financial convenience, Annex offers individual leases. This means each student signs his or her lease and is accountable for paying just their portion of the rent. Roommate matching also will be available.
