The Annex Group ranks 36th on Multi-housing News’ 2022 Top Multi-family Development Firms list.
With 686 units completed and 1,454 under construction in 2022, this is The Annex Group’s first time appearing on the list.

In 2022, The Annex Group broke ground on five new communities:
- The Annex of Bloomington, a new workforce housing community in Bloomington, Indiana
- The Annex of Pullman, a new student housing community in Pullman, Washington
- Union at Middle Creek, a new affordable housing community in Lincoln, Nebraska
- Union at Tryon, a new affordable housing community in Charlotte, North Carolina
- Union at Pacific Highway, a new affordable community in Corvallis, Oregon.
According to Multi-housing News, “despite rising construction costs in recent years, multifamily development has maintained a strong pace. A recent supply update from Yardi Matrix predicts deliveries will exceed 420,000 units by the end of the year and expects multifamily completions to hit north of 430,000 units in 2023.”
Multi-housing News states that the group of top developers was created utilizing self-reported data from participating firms, and rankings utilized weighted formulas based on a variety of factors, including current and future plans, market value of projects completed and under construction, and geographic property diversification.
