THE ANNEX GROUP® TO DEVELOP NEW STUDENT HOUSING COMMUNITY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MEMPHIS

INDIANAPOLIS (December 8, 2023) – The Annex Group®, a leading impact housing developer that creates affordable, workforce, student and market-rate housing communities, announces today it has been selected to develop a new student housing community for the University of Memphis.

The new community will feature 540 beds within studio, two-bedroom and four-bedroom units, and be part of the Park Avenue Campus, which is also the future site of Tiger Park, the integrated academic and athletic facilities complex the University of Memphis has in the works. The community is being built to house both university students and student athletes.

The new community is being designed with today’s college students in mind and will feature study spaces, social spaces and outdoor living areas, as well as grab-and-go dining options.

“The upcoming housing development on our Park Avenue Campus will give our student-athletes a significant competitive enhancement to live where they train," said University of Memphis President Bill Hardgrave. "This facility will help tremendously in recruiting for our athletic programs and assist in building a sense of community across our university with student-athletes living alongside others in our student population. We greatly appreciate everyone involved for helping make this much-anticipated facility a reality.”

The new community is expected to open in fall 2026. This will be The Annex Group’s second housing community in Memphis. The Annex of Memphis, an off-campus housing community located within walking distance of the University of Memphis, opened in 2021.
